The SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags are thrilled to have Chris Apoua back in the Southland Jersey in 2021. Chris his been a member of the Stags squad for the past three seasons with 23 games to his name.

Apoua, who has played all his club in Southland for Star, is a welcome signing at Tight Head Prop for head coach Dale MacLeod, who admits it’s been one of the toughest roles to fill in this seasons squad.

“To be honest I never wanted Chris , Roxanne & family to shift back North. Chris was a key member of our squad in 2020. I approached him about the possibility of coming back to play for the Stags in our 2021 campaign, it took just a few minutes for Chris to confirm he was keen, the rest is history now."

MacLeod knows Chris' capability in the front row will be a great asset for some of the new players.

"He really grew his game in 2020 and I look forward to seeing what he will deliver this season. He is very motivated about coming back down and performing well ” says MacLeod. 

Chris Apoua will return South for team assembly the third week of July.
