Rugby Southland is excited to confirm the return of the ILT Fireworks Spectacular to Rugby Park Stadium in 2025 – a dazzling post-match display set to be bigger and better than ever.
The fireworks will launch at full-time of the SBS Bank Southland Stags’ home game against ManawatÅ« on Friday, August 15, with the match kicking off at 7.10pm and the display set to light up the night sky at approximately 8.45pm.
Thanks to the continued support of ILT, the fireworks show will be a thrilling addition to the game day experience at no additional cost, helping deliver even more value for fans attending the match.
And this year, it’s not just fireworks – it’s a sensory overload. The display is designed for the best possible viewing experience from inside the venue, and will be choreographed to a specially curated playlist, turning Rugby Park into a fully immersive entertainment zone as the night sky comes alive in perfect sync with sound.
In the event of postponement due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, a reserve date has been set for Friday, September 26, during the Stags’ home game against Tasman.
“This is shaping up to be one of the biggest nights of our season,” said Rugby Southland Head of Commercial and Business Development Jack King. “With a crucial game against ManawatÅ« and a fireworks show that’s even bigger than last year’s, it’s a full evening of fun for all ages – and we’re proud to offer it as part of your regular game ticket. A huge thanks to ILT for their ongoing support and for helping us deliver such an unforgettable experience for our community.”
The display is fully funded by ILT and included in the standard admission. Tickets are just $20 for adults, with an unbeatable family offer that allows two children aged 13 and under to enter free with every paying adult.
Speaking on behalf of ILT, President Paddy O'Brien said the organisation is thrilled to back the event again.
“The ILT Fireworks Spectacular is all about bringing the community together and creating memories,” he said. “Rugby Park under lights, with the Stags in action and fireworks overhead – it doesn’t get much better. We’re proud to play a part in delivering an experience the whole region can enjoy.”
With a high-energy Bunnings NPC clash, a strong crowd expected, and a full-stadium fireworks experience at full-time, this is one night you won’t want to miss.
Tickets are on sale now at Ticketek or at the Civic Theatre.
