Rugby Southland Announces Exciting Partnership with Regional Ford Gore


Rugby Southland is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Regional Ford Gore, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the connection between the rugby community and Eastern Southland. This collaboration, fostered by outgoing CEO Steve Mitchell and Commercial and Marketing Manager Jack King of Rugby Southland alongside Dan Cavanagh of Regional Ford, designates Regional Ford as the preferred vehicle supplier for Rugby Southland and the SBS Bank Southland Stags.

The partnership underscores the commitment of both organizations to supporting local sports and fostering community spirit. As a locally owned dealership, Regional Ford Gore, who also have a branch in Balclutha, shares Rugby Southland’s dedication to enhancing the region’s sporting culture and providing exceptional support to local teams and their fans.

The relationship between Rugby Southland and Regional Ford Gore began years ago when Dan Cavanagh started supporting some of the Southland Stags with vehicles during the rugby season. Dan, a former Southland representative with strong ties to his home club Woodlands, has been a longstanding supporter of the local rugby community.

Regional Ford predominantly supports Eastern Southland for vehicles, but they do business throughout Southland and New Zealand with many long-term customers. With a large geographical region encompassing over 33 clubs and more than 40 schools, the importance of quality and safe transport is paramount for Rugby Southland. This partnership ensures that the teams have access to reliable, practical, and high-quality vehicles, enabling them to travel efficiently and safely across the region.
