Rugby Southland are excited to announce the young athletes selected for the upcoming 2024 Ralph Moir Limited Rugby Southland Pathways Musters. The three-sessions will be held across Invercargill, Gore & Winton from February 12th to 15th, and will provide a platform for some of the most promising U16-U18 male and female rugby players to showcase their rugby skill set, physical prowess along with character. Players selected were identified through the 2023 Teenage & Phillips Group Southland Representative season.
Rugby Southland Academy Manager Scott Eade & Teenage Lead Marty McKenzie will be leading the musters alongside the community rugby team. The sessions will include some physical testing, rugby positional & core skill coaching and small sided non-contact games.
The Pathways Musters purpose is to identify and connect in with over 100 male & female players who have shown potential to be included in the Rugby Southland Pathways programme. Following the Musters, the 2024 Pathways group will be announced. Athletes selected will be supported throughout the year with their strength & conditioning, technical & tactical rugby development, as well as their overall holistic personal growth.
Rugby Southland wishes to acknowledge the continued support of all pathway's partners, in particular Ralph Moir Limited, ILT and Community Trust South.
All coaches involved in teenage rugby are welcome to attend and observe any of the sessions taking place.
