
We are officially over the halfway point of the season!
In premier Rugby the race is on for a spot in the Galbraith Shield final. Following Blues defult over the weekend, Woodlands are now 8 points clear at the top of the ladder, with Pirates Old Boys on 18 points, and Star and Marist sitting on 16 points.
Following last weeks heavy defeat to Woodlands, Marist came out firing with a 20 point win over form side Pirates Old Boys at Marist on Saturday. Stand out players were prop Lio Tosi and first five Scott Eade.
In Gore, Star claimed the win over ENC Barbarians.
In Divison One, in the Ack Soper Shield Te Anau dominated in their top of the table clash against Midlands, putting them on equal wins and only two points behind table toppers Mindlands. Edendale are now sitting third on the table after a big win over Riversdale, with Wyndham sitting fourth following a loss to Waikaka, who got their first win of the season.
In the Gerald Dermody Shield Pioneer continue their form following a big win over Wakatipu. Pioneer now sit top of the table two points clear of second placed Tokanui. Tokanui ran in a solid win over Mossburn and Waikiwi drew with Albion.
In Divison Two's CJ Soper grade, Bluff and Waiau Star went head to head in a top of the table clash, for a large period of the game it was anyones guess who would get the win and move to top of the table, with the home side Bluff taking the win. Waiau sit second followed by DLS.
In the Life Members Trophy, Collegiate remain unbeaten following their win over Marist and Woodlands sit second after a win over Pirates Old Boys. Bush Pirates defeated Midlands for their first win of the season.
