Greg Dyer Signed with SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags

The SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags have signed local first five-eight Greg Dyer.

Greg, who plays for Pirates Old-Boys in the Southland Wide Club Competition, is yet another player from last year's Stags campaign re-committing to Southland.

Dyer became somewhat of a cult icon last season following a kick at the death to topple premiership side North Harbour in round three last season.

With over 20 NPC games for Southland, Dyer will add great depth to the first five-eight position, as well as great direction for the backline.

Over 20 contracts have been awarded to date local players or returning Stags from the 2020 season although injuries are proving troublesome, with positions needing filled from outside of the club scene.

Head Coach Dale MacLeod has had Dyer signed for some time, pointing out his impressive club season as the main reason for his inclusion once again.

"Greg was signed 4 or 5 weeks ago. As Greg has shown through the club comp he has been one of the most consistent performers week in week out for his Pirates Old Boys club. He has grown as a player, leader and has worked very hard in our HP group since November to earn his contract. As with other positions in our squad , there will be very good competition within our 10s ."

Greg Dyer joins Marty McKenzie and Marty Banks as contracted 10's for the Bunnings Warehouse NPC.
