Town v Country fixtures date back to the early days of Rugby Southland and every provide not only a hotly contested fixture, but a chance for the Stags and Southland Development coaching staff to identify players for their programmes. Southland Country is selected from players that play in their sub-union day tournament which was won by Eastern in 2021 and Town (Metropolitan) is made up of players from the 5 Premier clubs and 2 Division 1 clubs in the Invercargill area. In 2021, Town played eventual Meads Cup champions South Canterbury and Country beat Otago Country before Town won the annual fixture between the two sides.

July 30th - Metro vs Country - Les George Oval Invercargill 2.30pm
August 6th - Southland Country vs Otago Country - Gore Showgrounds 2.30pm
