SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags Pleasants-Tate and Thomas back for 2021

Sit Zero Fees Southland Stags Hookers Greg Pleasants-Tate and Flynn Thomas will return for the 2021 NPC season for Southland.

Pleasants-Tate had a stand out season for Southland, being amongst the top scoring hookers in the country in 2020. His impresive season saw him earn a contract with Japanese based Suntory, which for coach Dale MacLeod is a great benifit for Greg as a player. "Greg has played at Super Rugby level and while we always want our players to earn a call up for the likes of the Highlanders, any international selection is of great benfit to the player and our Stags squad."

Young Southland talent Flynn Thomas will also return to the SIT Zero Fees Southland Stags set-up following an absense from the field last season due to injury. Thomas had shoulder reconstruction surgery, and is excited to make his NPC return, starting with the upcoming club season with Marist.

Coach Dale MacLeod says while locally based talent is the number one priority, continuity within the squad is key. "It's great for boys to be signing on for their third and fourth seasons with Southland".
